Now the elections have come to Burma. Along with the complaints that military votes are being unfairly reserved for the military personnel, Giving an unfair advantage to the military representatives. I would like to suggest that the rewards be identical to the winner of the last election. Being very biased in my opinion of the military junta controlling Burma now, Because of the elections of 1990 resulting with military control not handing over that control from Mr Than Shwe to the elected prime minister Aung San Suu Kyi. Not only did they not allow the elected official to take office, They also kept her under house arrest. The House arrest was imposed on her beforethe elections. July 20TH 1989. House arrest or leave Burma, An ultimatum. She stayed. The elections afterward in 1990 were to usher in a new political system of government for Burma.
Burma being one of the poorest nations on Earth could be wisely helped economically be an educated person with a BA degree in economics, And politics, Along with philosophy. Go ahead people of Burma ask yourselves, And if your military junta, This includes you, "How much have I lost without this educated decision maker in twenty years? " Place her in office now and watch your country climb out of the abyss of political starvation and into the next era of trade and political growth.
I am angry. What I want to say is the next elected person in Burma should get what the last got. House arrest for a great many years. But this is no good for Burma. So I will stifle. Instead I would implore to have the winner of this election use Aung San Suu Kyi as their closest ally and place her in an extremely high position with complete pardon from crimes alleged. For only then would an elected official really prove he or she was willing to correct a wrong and give Burma it's due.
"IT is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it, And fear of the scourge of power corrupts those whom are subjects to it." A quote from- Her father-Her grandmother- Her mother.
Aung San Kyi
